Trail Goals

A Scenic Trail with Purpose

As the Little Conestoga Creek is restored, the 3.5-mile trail will link people to nature and key community destinations. This ADA-accessible network will create economic opportunity by improving connectivity and growing our active transportation network.

Connecting Community, Education, & Nature

Along the Blue Green Connector, visitors will find:

  • Alternative transport: the choice to safely walk or bike instead of drive.
  • Restored habitat: 25 acres of native plants and trees in healthy ecosystems, from wetlands to meadows and forests.
  • Local creativity: public art installations that reflect the spirit of the community and celebrate nature.
  • Stories of science and place: learning stations interpret local ecology, water quality, history, and restorative actions.
  • Outdoor learning: dedicated spaces for student field trips and community education.
  • Quiet connection: opportunities for birdwatching, photography, and recreational escape in nature.

A Trail for Today – & Tomorrow

The trail will be built in phases from 2025 through 2028.

Trail sections will open to the public as they are completed.

Each phase brings new opportunities to connect with nature, recreation, and community landmarks.

As the trail grows, so will its impact—increasing access to safe, healthy outdoor spaces in Lancaster County.
